Chrissy is originally from northern Germany and holds a Bachelor’s degree in German as a Foreign Language and British and North American Studies. In 2023, she moved to the United States to finish her Master’s degree in Education and has since worked as a high school teacher in Kansas City, Missouri. Since her high school exchange at the age of 16 in Michigan, a passion for cultural understanding and global awareness was sparked. Since then, she has lived in the United Kingdom, spent 9 summers working at summer camps in Oklahoma, Canada and Germany, supported refugees from various countries in learning German, and completed an exchange program in Illinois during her undergraduate studies where she mentored international students to help them adjust socially and culturally to life in the United States. Through these international experiences and getting to know people from all over the world, she has come to value empathy, curiosity and understanding. These values shape her approach to teaching which she hopes to bring to Pine Street School. She is incredibly excited to work with a diverse student body, get to know students and staff alike and inspire students at Pine Street to think globally, and grow into critical thinkers and lifelong learners. In her free time, she enjoys indoor cycling, reading, paddleboarding, and trying out new recipes. She is also currently learning how to solve a Rubik’s Cube!
