Both are considered. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement and financial need, along with an interest in Pine Street School’s educational approach.

How many Global Futures Scholarship are available?

Two full-tuition scholarships are available for Fall 2027 entry. Applicants who are not selected may still be considered for admission with need-based financial aid, subject to demonstrated need and available funding.

No previous proficiency is required. Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in learning Mandarin, Spanish, or German and engaging with different cultures and perspectives.

For the 2027–2028 Global Futures Scholarship program, students currently attending a U.S. public school who will enter Grade 5 or Grade 6 in Fall 2027 may apply for that same grade at Pine Street School, including students with birthdays between September 1 and December 31.

Families of eligible students with fall birthdays should contact Admissions before beginning the scholarship application so we can assist with the process.

This guidance applies specifically to Global Futures Scholarship applicants entering Grades 5 and 6.

Do we need to live in Lower Manhattan to be eligible for the Global Futures Scholarship?

No. There are no geographic restrictions on eligibility. Applicants must currently attend a U.S. public school, and families should consider the practical arrangements for attending Pine Street School in Lower Manhattan.

What happens if my child does not receive a Global Futures Scholarship?

Our Global Futures Scholarships are one way Pine Street School helps make enrollment possible. Our established need-based financial aid program also supports qualifying families, with awards based on each family’s financial circumstances.

Applicants who are not selected for a scholarship may still be considered for admission with financial aid. We encourage families to apply even if full tuition feels out of reach. Our Admissions Team can discuss how financial aid may support your child’s enrollment. Awards depend on demonstrated need and available funding.

Can we apply for Pine Street School's Global Futures Scholarship while considering public school options?

Yes. Submitting an application does not commit your family to enroll. Pine Street School has its own application process and deadlines.
