Karuna holds an M.Ed. with a specialization in International Teaching from Framingham State University, bringing over two decades of dual-immersion experience from pre-K through middle school. Born in Connecticut and raised in Italy and Switzerland, she is fluent in five languages. Her native-level Spanish developed over 30 years of living and teaching in Costa Rica, where she served as Dean of Students and International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Del Mar Academy. Drawing on Montessori methods, IB frameworks, evidence-based immersion practices, and social-emotional learning, Karuna creates a warm, play-based environment that supports the natural acquisition of the Spanish language. She believes every child thrives through hands-on discovery, sensory exploration, and authentic connection. Passionate about world cultures and the natural environment, Karuna delights in inspiring curiosity, respect, and love for our world in her young students.
