Lyndall holds a Masters of Elementary Education from Curtin University and has taught in both Australia and New York City. She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to structured literacy, an evidence-based framework for building strong reading and writing foundations, and is passionate about differentiating engaging learning experiences that respond to each student’s strengths and interests. Drawn to elementary education by its unique ability to connect ideas across disciplines, Lyndall values inquiry-based learning for the way it encourages students to ask thoughtful questions, make meaningful connections, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Before becoming a teacher, Lyndall earned a Bachelor in Interior Architecture from the University of New South Wales and worked as an interior architect, designing retail and hospitality spaces in both Sydney and New York. Her background in design continues to shape her appreciation for creativity, thoughtful learning environments, and the many ways students can express their thinking. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Lyndall enjoys exploring New York City’s neighborhoods, discovering new restaurants, as well as catching one of the many trains that can take her on a hike in the mountains or to a dip at the beach. She is grateful to call New York home and delighted to be part of the Pine Street School community.
