
Sofía Ubilla is a Spanish teacher originally from Chile with over nine years of teaching experience. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and a diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language, and has taught across elementary and middle school in both Chile and the United States. Before joining Pine Street School, she worked as a bilingual 1st and 2nd Grade homeroom teacher at an inquiry-based learning school in Chile. She has been part of the Pine Street School community since 2022. Sofía is passionate about language learning and creating meaningful connections through culture. She believes that learning a language is an opportunity for students to explore different perspectives, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. She especially enjoys bringing Hispanic traditions, stories, music, and cultural experiences into the classroom. Outside of school, Sofía enjoys traveling, discovering new cultures and traditions, reading, and practicing Pilates.
