Financial Aid

We are equally committed to building a school community that reflects the diversity of New York City. Through our need-based financial aid program, we work to make a Pine Street School education accessible to qualifying families from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Frequently asked questions
Is financial aid available in all grades?

Yes. Need-based financial aid is available to qualifying families across Pine Street School's programs, from Nursery through Grade 8, subject to available funds.

Is Pine Street School financial aid need-based or merit-based?

Financial aid is need-based and is awarded toward tuition. It is not a merit scholarship.

How is financial aid determined?

Financial aid is based on demonstrated financial need. Pine Street School considers the information families provide through Clarity, including household income, expenses, assets, liabilities, household size, and other relevant circumstances, then makes the final award decision using its own policies and available resources.

Does Clarity decide how much aid my family receives?

No. Clarity is the platform Pine Street School uses to collect and help assess financial information. Pine Street School makes the final financial aid decision.

Will applying for financial aid affect my child's admissions decision?

Applying for financial aid does not change how Pine Street School assesses whether the program is the right educational fit for a child. Financial aid and admissions are reviewed through separate processes.

How do I apply for financial aid?

First submit the Pine Street School application through Ravenna and indicate that your family plans to apply for financial aid. Then create or access a Clarity account, select Pine Street School, complete the financial aid application, and provide any requested supporting documentation by the applicable deadline.

What is Pine Street School's Clarity school code?

Pine Street School's Clarity school code is 2918. Families can select Pine Street School when prompted or enter the code if the school does not appear.

Do I need to apply for financial aid every year?

Yes. Families receiving aid must submit a new financial aid application each year because financial circumstances can change. Renewal amounts may change based on demonstrated need, tuition, and available funds.

What information will I need to provide?

Clarity guides families through the required household and financial information. Families should be prepared to provide details about income, assets, liabilities, expenses, and household members. Clarity may also request tax verification or additional supporting documentation.

What if parents or guardians live in separate households?

Clarity's process generally requires separate financial aid applications for separate households. Pine Street School may have additional requirements depending on a family's circumstances, so families should contact the Financial Aid Office with questions.

Can I add Pine Street School after I have already submitted a Clarity application to another school?

Yes. Clarity allows families to add another participating school to an application as long as that school's deadline has not passed. Follow the instructions in your Clarity account or contact Clarity support for technical assistance.

Can I update my Clarity application after submitting it?

Clarity allows certain changes after submission as long as the school's deadline has not passed. If your financial situation changes materially after you apply, contact Pine Street School as well so the school can advise you on next steps.

What happens if I miss the financial aid deadline?

Families are encouraged to apply by the published deadline because financial aid resources are limited. Late applications may be reviewed only if funds remain available, so contact the Financial Aid Office before submitting a late application.

When are financial aid decisions released?

Financial aid award decisions are released in tandem with admissions decisions.

Can current Pine Street School families apply for financial aid?

Yes. Current families may apply according to Pine Street School's annual financial aid policies and deadlines. Families whose circumstances change unexpectedly should contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss their situation.

Can I appeal or request reconsideration of a financial aid award?

If there has been a significant change in your financial circumstances or relevant information was unavailable when the application was reviewed, contact Pine Street School to ask about the reconsideration process.

Is my financial information confidential?

Yes. Financial aid applications are handled confidentially and reviewed only by those involved in Pine Street School's financial aid process. Information submitted through Clarity is managed through Clarity's secure application platform.

Who should I contact with financial aid questions?

For questions about Pine Street School's financial aid policies, deadlines, or award process, contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@greenivy.com or 347-404-3217. For technical questions about the Clarity application, use Clarity's family support resources.

Where can I get help understanding tuition or financial aid?

Every family's circumstances are different, and conversations about tuition can feel personal. Pine Street School's Financial Aid Office can explain the process, answer questions, and help families determine the most appropriate next step. Contact finaid@greenivy.com or 347-404-3217.
