Admissions Process
Determine Your Child's Grade
Placement follows a September 1 age cutoff. For example, students entering Junior Kindergarten in fall 2027 would be born between September 2, 2022 and September 1, 2023, while students entering Kindergarten would be born between September 2, 2021 and September 1, 2022. Students entering Grades 1–5 should be six, seven, eight, nine, and ten, respectively, as of September 1 of their year of entry.
We are happy to discuss your child’s placement during the Parent Meeting.

Start Your Application in RavennaStudent Classroom Visit
Classroom and play visits are scheduled through your Ravenna application and give us a chance to get to know your child while allowing them to experience Pine Street School firsthand. Children ages 2–4 join us for a play-based classroom visit; Kindergarten–Grade 3 students spend a half day in class with a grade-level assessment; and Grades 4–8 students join us for a full day that includes classes, a student interview, and academic and language assessments.
This step becomes available in Ravenna after you submit your application. In some cases, we may also request an observation at your child’s current school to better understand their learning style and needs.
Schedule in RavennaUpload Supporting Documents
Supporting documents are submitted through Ravenna, with requirements varying by age and grade. Nursery Ones applicants do not need to submit additional school records. For ages 2–4, families may be asked for preschool progress reports or transcripts, if applicable, along with a teacher recommendation. Kindergarten–Grade 3 applicants submit school records and a teacher recommendation. For Grades 4–8, families submit report cards and/or transcripts from the past three years, a teacher recommendation with a recent graded writing sample, and may also share recent MAP scores or other standardized testing results in place of assessments completed during the class visit.
This step becomes available in Ravenna after you submit your application. Your Ravenna application will show the documents required for your child’s grade.
Upload Documents in RavennaParent Meeting
For applicants age 2 through Grade 8, the final step is a parent/guardian meeting, scheduled through your Ravenna application. This conversation gives us a chance to learn more about your child and family, discuss how Pine Street School can support your child’s growth, and answer any remaining questions. It is also an opportunity to make sure Pine Street School feels like the right fit for your family.
This step becomes available in Ravenna after you submit your application. Nursery Ones applicants do not require this meeting.

To secure placement, families have one week from the date of their offer to submit a signed financial agreement and non-refundable deposit.
