Physical Education helps students build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and healthy habits through movement and purposeful physical challenge, while the IB framework encourages reflection, goal-setting, and a deeper understanding of well-being.

In the early and elementary years, Physical Education gives students opportunities to move, play, build coordination, and become increasingly confident using their bodies. Individual skill-building is balanced with cooperative games and team activities, helping students learn how to collaborate, follow rules, and compete with respect.

Beginning in Grade 4, students build on those foundations through more structured fitness, strategy, movement, and team sports, with opportunities to participate in Pine Street School athletics. In Middle School, Physical and Health Education is part of the IB MYP curriculum, with students also setting goals, reflecting on performance, and developing a deeper understanding of health and well-being.
Beginning in Grade 4, students can represent Pine Street School as part of our Mambas athletic teams. Our mascot reflects the spirit we value in our students: mighty, quick, and determined. Go Mambas!
